Dermolipectomy

Dermolipectomy and abdominal plastic surgery (tummy tuck and waist tuck)

You have lost weight, but you are not happy with the excess skin in the abdominal area.

The procedure includes the removal of the excess skin and fat tissue from the abdomen.

The incision line is placed low in so called „bikini line“, horizontally in the lower abdomen above the pubic region, and deep up to the abdominal wall muscles. Excess skin and fatty tissue are removed, and umbilicus may optionally be transposed higher up. If the patient hasn’t lost enough weight, liposuction of the hips, buttocks, and lumbal region can be performed at the same time, as well as the abdominal muscles re-enforcement. The placement of the aspiration drains is necessary.

The procedure is performed in 2 to 4 hours, depending on the extensiveness, under general anesthesia. The easier procedure would be just the tightening of the hanging lower abdomen.

The patient is able to stand up the next day, however, reduced activity during the next 3 to 4 days is recommended. Drains are removed after 2 to 3 days, and the stitches are removed gradually, after 10 to 14 days. After the surgery, an elastic garment is necessarily worn for about one month, and the garment is included in the price of the surgery. The patients are advised to refrain from intensive physical activities during that period.
